Label I Love: First Sin Jewellery + Giveaway!
by Caitlin @ Chasing Cait on December 5, 2012
Amazing, colourful statement jewellery – check!
Affordable and good quality – check!
It’s not very often you come across a jewellery (or clothing, or shoe, or anything) label that not only delivers the goods fashion-wise, but they are doing it with the wider community and some social responsibility in mind too!
First Sin is a new Australian label that not only produces a.ma.zing jewellery, but they donate 5% of ALL full priced sales to a group of charities they have chosen to support!
Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the collection - available online now! Great Christmas present ideas yes?
1.Sunrise earrings $19.00 2. Pina Colada bracket $79.00 3. Warrior necklace $39.95 4. The Go To Girl bracelet $34.95 5. She’s a Maniac earrings $24.95
The beauty AND brains behind the label (who prefers to remain anonymous - she feels the focus should be on the concept not on a face of the label) came up with the idea after years of working for large Australian companies and was astounded at how little they gave to those less fortunate.
Fashion and accessories have always been a big passion for the team behind First Sin so the idea that they could do what they love and feel good about it, was a real bonus. They have high hopes that someday more businesses will move in this direction.
We believe that looking good on the outside and feeling good on the inside can be a combined choice.

My thoughts turned to jewellery (of course!) and what girl doesn't love a bit of sparkly costume jewellery? It's the perfect way to perk up an old outfit, or throw it on with a black dress for a work Christmas party and you'll be perfectly dressed to continue afterwards at cocktail hour!
However, I don't want to buy her any old thing, and I know she also likes gifts with a meaning, with substance. So, where to find!?!
Well my pretties, today, a miracle has occured. I have stumbled across a new online jewellery website, First Sin. Based in Sydney, First Sin offers gorgeous jewellery with a conscience - it donates 5% of every purchase to various charities - including Lifeline, the Cancer Council and the AIDS Trust. (And with free standard shipping in Australia...win!)
I think I've found the perfect gift (shh don't tell!) - I just have to choose between these three gorgeous danglers! J xx:
